Tim is frustrated that the twins' mother, Rosie, seems to be cleaning up her act and starts visiting the twin girls. He and Julie argue about it. Tim also faces another problem: his patient Ruth is very ill but just as she is about to go into surgery, she gets hysterical and puts up a violent struggle. Why is she so scared of operations? Evan punches popular radio host Jay Johnson right in the face after he provokes him greatly during a hockey game. As Evan later examines him, they make friends and Jay persuades Evan to appear on his radio show. Roger is auctioned away to a woman at a charity auction. One of Roger's celebrity patients, Reggie Miller, has also been auctioned away - for $10.000 - and Roger keeps his mouth shut about the fact that he himself went for $1.500. Jay, who has an obvious drug problem, embarrasses Evan during the radio show and later steals his prescription pad and uses it to get drugs for himself.
