She has acted in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu movies, totaling over 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry. She has composed two devotional albums namely Azhagu, Thirupathi Thirukudai Thiruvizha. She has won five Best Actress Filmfare awards for her performance in Tamil films including Puthu Nellu Puthu Nathu, Walter Vetrivel and Rajarajan.
