Pat Summerall

Pat Summerall was a legendary sportscaster and former NFL player, best remembered for his decades as a calm, authoritative voice in American football broadcasting. Before entering the booth, Summerall played 10 seasons in the NFL as a placekicker, most notably with the New York Giants in the 1950s.

After retiring from the field, he began a broadcasting career that spanned over 40 years and included work with CBS and Fox. Summerall became best known for his partnership with analyst John Madden, forming one of the most iconic duos in sports television history. His understated, minimalist play-by-play style provided the perfect counterbalance to Madden’s energetic analysis.
